PROCLAMATION NO. 2249

AUTHORIZING THE PHILIPPINE MENTAL HEALTH ASSOCIATION, INC. TO CONDUCT A NATIONWIDE MEMBERSHIP AND FUND CAMPAIGN FOR A PERIOD OF ONE YEAR.

WHEREAS, the Philippine Mental Health Association, Inc. a non-profit organization deeply involved in the preventive, curative and rehabilitative aspects of mental illness, has for the last 31 years served the Filipino citizenry;

WHEREAS, the Philippine Mental Health Association has proven to be an effective partner agency in the field of mental health, social services and rehabilitation to those of the government from 1950; and

WHEREAS, the Philippine Mental Health Association, Inc. is financed primarily by contributions obtained through yearly solicitation, educational and campaigns for donations.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby authorize the Philippine Mental Health Association to conduct a nationwide membership and fund campaign during the period from January 1 to December 31, 1983.

I call upon all citizens and residents of the Philippines to give generously of their means in helping realize this humanitarian endeavor.ℒαwρhi৷ All donations and contributions to the Association shall be exempt from all taxes including amusement tax and the same shall constitute allowable deductions in full for income tax purposes of the donors.

All national and local officials are hereby authorized to accept fund raising responsibilities and take the initiative and assume active leadership in the mental health membership and fund campaign in their respective communities.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
