PROCLAMATION NO. 2201

ALLOCATING A PORTION OF A PUBLIC LAND SITUATED IN CALARIAN, ZAMBOANGA CITY, FOR THE EXCLUSIVE USE OF THE MINDANAO SEAMAN SCHOOL

WHEREAS, a parcel of land situated in Calarian, Zamboanga City, with a total area of 48,800 hectares, more or less, bounded on the North by Lot No. 317, on the South by a Road, on the East by Lot No. 309-A, and, on the West by Lot No. 2014-R, of the Zamboanga City Cadastral Survey, it being used as school complex for the Mindanao Seaman School, an institution owned and operated by the Ministry of Muslim Affairs;

WHEREAS, the operation of the Mindanao Seaman School has significantly contributed to the current thrust of the government to rehabilitate Muslim rebel returnees and displaced individuals in terms of employment generation; and

WHEREAS, the continued operation of the said school requires the grant of permanent site therefore to allay fear of impending transfer to other area not conducive for the purpose and which may hamper its future operations;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution, do hereby declare the present site of the Mindanao Seaman School in Calarian, Zamboanga City, as the official site of the school, the ownership and administration thereof conferred to the Ministry of Muslim Affairs.

Accordingly, the Ministry of Natural Resources, thru the Director of the Bureau of Lands, shall cause the resurvey of the said parcel of land and the issuance of the corresponding title thereto in favor of the Ministry of Muslim Affairs.ℒαwρhi৷
