PROCLAMATION NO. 2191

DECLARATION OF MAY 17, 1982, BARANGAY ELECTION, AS A SPECIAL NON-WORKING PUBLIC HOLIDAY

WHEREAS, Batasang Pambansa Blg. 222 has set for May 17, 1982 the election of barangay officials;

WHEREAS, to enable our people to properly exercise their right to suffrage it is fitting that Monday, May 17, 1982 be declared as a special non-working holiday; and

WHEREAS, the declaration of said date will not prejudice the public interest;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare Monday, May 17, 1982, as a special non-working public holiday throughout the country: Provided, That teachers and other officials or employees who are by law required to assist in the conduct of the election shall report to their respective stations.ℒαwρhi৷

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
