PROCLAMATION NO. 2183

DECLARING THE HUNDRED ISLAND NATIONAL PARK INCLUDING THE LUCAP BAY FORESHORE BEGINNING FROM SITIO TELEBANG IN THE EAST TO SITIO RECUDO IN THE WEST AS A TOURIST ZONE AND MARINE RESERVE UNDER THE CONTROL AND ADMINISTRATION OF THE PHILIPPINE TOURISM AUTHORITY.

WHEREAS, the Hundred Islands National Park including Lucap Bay was transferred from the Hundred Islands Conservation and Development Authority to the Philippine Tourism Authority by virtue of Section 35 of Presidential Decree No. 564;

WHEREAS, there is a proliferation of development projects, reclamations and constructions on Lucap Bay which threatens to destroy the ecosystem of the Bay and its marine life which is one of its attractions;

WHEREAS, it is necessary to regulate and control the utilization of the Lucap Bay and the Hundred Islands National Park for the attainment of national tourism priorities;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution, do hereby declare the Hundred Islands National Park, including Lucap Bay and its foreshore from Sitio Telebang in the East to Sitio Recudo in the West, as a tourist zone under the administration and control of the Philippine Tourism Authority.

The Philippine Tourism Authority shall promulgate rules and regulations to govern conservation, development and exploitation of the area, including all constructions and installations for any purpose.

No development projects or construction for any purpose shall be introduced within the tourist zone without prior approval of the President of the Philippines upon recommendation of the Philippine Tourism Authority.

All proclamations or executive orders inconsistent herewith are hereby revoked or modified accordingly.ℒαwρhi৷
