PROCLAMATION NO. 2179

DECLARING MAY 31 TO JUNE 6, 1982 AS ASEAN INTERPORT SPORTS WEEK.

WHEREAS, the Philippines is a bona fide member of the ASEAN PORT AUTHORITIES ASSOCIATION;

WHEREAS, to foster closer relationships among officials and employees of the member ports, the association holds every two years the Asean Interport Sports Meet, the hosting of which this year is the turn of the Philippines under the auspices of the Philippine Ports Authority;

WHEREAS, the hosting of the 9th Interport Sports Meet by our country is in line with the government’s sports development program to attain physical fitness of our people and maintain solidarity among Asean countries.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare May 31 to June 6, 1982 as “Asean Interport Sports Week”.

All government agencies, public and private institutions are enjoined to support this event and to extend all assistance in terms of facilities, equipment and attendance.ℒαwρhi৷

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
