PROCLAMATION NO. 2178

DECLARING APRIL 19-23, 1982, AS INFORMATION AND COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY WEEK.

WHEREAS, there is a need to highlight the important role that information systems play in the nation’s developmental process, particularly in policy formulation and in the implementation of development programs;

WHEREAS, there is a necessity to focus attention on the need for more efficient methods of gathering, processing and utilizing information in the light analysis as the basis for designing and implementing explicit and coherent plans and policies; and

WHEREAS, there is a necessity to focus public attention to the role of information and computer technology in national development;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby proclaim April 19-23, 1982 as “Information and Computer Technology Week.”

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
