PROCLAMATION NO. 2174
EXCLUDING FROM THE OPERATION OF EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 67, DATED OCTOBER 15, 1912 WHICH ESTABLISHED THE IWAHIG PENAL COLONY SITUATED IN THE CITY OF PUERTO PRINCESA, ISLAND OF PALAWAN, A PORTION OF THE LAND EMBRACED THEREIN AND RESERVING THE SAME FOR PROVINCIAL AGRICULTURE CENTER SITE PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, it is the policy of the state to ensure the development of depressed rural areas of the country through integrated area development;
WHEREAS, the Palawan Integrated Area Development Project (PIADP) has been adopted by the Government as the fifth integrated area development project under the National Council for Integrated Area Development (NACIAD);
WHEREAS, there exists a need for a Provincial Agriculture Center for applied research, demonstration, staff and clientele training and for effective and efficient administration and implementation of the agriculture and resources components of the Palawan Integrated Area Development Project; and
WHEREAS, an area of five hundred (550) hectares within the Iwahig Penal Colony established under Executive Order No. 67 dated October 15, 1912 situated in the City of Puerto Princesa has been identified as suitable for the establishment of the Provincial Agriculture Center.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, upon recommendation of the Minister of Natural Resources and by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby exclude from the operation of Executive Order No. 67 dated October 15, 1912 which established the Iwahig Penal Colony situated in the City of Puerto Princesa, Island of Palawan, a portion of the land embraced therein and reserve the same as provincial agriculture center site for the Palawan Integrated Area Development Project under the administration of the National Council for Integrated Area Development (NACIAD) which portion is more particularly described as follows:
A parcel of land (a portion of the Iwahig Penal Colony) situated in Puerto Princesa City, Island of Palawan, Bounded on the Northeast and Southeast, along lines 1-2, 2-3, 3-4, 4-5, 5-6, 6-7, 7-8, 8-9, 9-10, 10-11, 11-12, 12-13, 13-14, 14-15, 15-16, 16-17, 17-18, 18-19, 19-20, 20-21, 21-22, 22-23, 23-24, 24-25, 25-26, 26-27, 27-28, 28-29, by Irawan River; along lines 29-30 and 30-31 by Puerto Princesa Bay; on the South, along line 31-32 by Iwahig Penal Colony; on the West, along lines 32-33, 33-34, 34-35, 35-36, 36-37, 37-38, 38-39, 39-40 by Iwahig Penal Colony; and on the North, along lines 40-41 and 41-1 by Irawan River.
