PROCLAMATION NO. 2168

DESIGNATING THE PERIOD FROM JUNE 1, 1982 TO MAY 31, 1983 FOR THE NATIONAL FUND CAMPAIGN OF THE BOY SCOUTS OF THE PHILIPPINES

WHEREAS, the Boy Scouts of the Philippines, in its program of character building and citizenship training among the youth, has amply demonstrated during its more than 50 years of existence, that it merits the continued moral and financial support of the people;

WHEREAS, with its present membership of close to two million boys and adult leaders all over the country, the largest in the Asia-Pacific Region and second largest in the world, the Boy Scouts of the Philippines exerts a tremendous influence in the development of a responsible citizenry imbued with a deep sense of nationhood; and

WHEREAS, the yearly fund drive of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines will once again give our people the opportunity to contribute to and insure the continuity of a worthy cause;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby designate the period from June 1, 1982 to May 31, 1983 for the annual national fund campaign of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines.

I call upon all citizens and residents of the Philippines, including government officials and employees to cooperate and assist in this fund campaign and to give it their unlimited support. I hereby authorize the exemption of all donations and contributions from all taxes including the amusement tax and the same shall constitute allowable deductions in full for income tax purposes of the donors.ℒαwρhi৷

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
