BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES

PROCLAMATION NO. 2095

DECLARING TUESDAY, JUNE 30, 1981, AS A SPECIAL NON-WORKING PUBLIC HOLIDAY.

WHEREAS, in the presidential election held on June 16, 1981, the incumbent President was given a fresh and overwhelming mandate to lead the Filipino people;

WHEREAS, on June 21, 1981, the Batasang Pambansa proclaimed that the incumbent President was duly elected by an overwhelming majority of 18,309,360 votes;

WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 3, Article VII of the Constitution, as amended, the term of office of the President under the New Society shall commence on June 30, 1981;

WHEREAS, the inauguration of the President of June 30, 1981, shall mark the beginning of a New Republic; and

WHEREAS, considering, the historical significance of this date, it is fitting to give the Filipino nation opportunity to celebrate the ushering of a New Government;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare Tuesday, June 30, 1981, as a special non-working public holiday.ᇈWᑭHIL

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
