PROCLAMATION NO. 2090

DECLARING MONDAY, JUNE 15, 1981, AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY.

WHEREAS, Batas Pambansa Blg. 125 has set for June 16, 1981 the election of the President of the Philippines;

WHEREAS, in order to give our people enough time to consider all the issues involved in the forthcoming election, it is fitting that Monday, June 15, 1981 be declared a special non-working public holiday; and

WHEREAS, the declaration of said date will not prejudice the public interest;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare Monday, June 15, 1981 as a special non-working public holiday throughout the country: Provided, That teachers and other officials or employees who are by law required to assist in the conduct of the election shall stay in their respective stations.ᇈWᑭHIL

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
