PROCLAMATION NO. 2072

DECLARING MONDAY, APRIL 6, 1981, AS A SPECIAL NON-WORKING PUBLIC HOLIDAY THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY.

WHEREAS, Batas Pambansa Blg. 122 set the holding of plebiscite on Tuesday, April 7, 1981, to consider the proposed amendments to the Constitution of the Philippines;

WHEREAS, in order to give our people enough time to have an in-depth study and discussion of the proposed amendments to the Constitution, it is fitting that Monday, April 6, 1981, be declared a special non-working public holiday; and

WHEREAS, declaration of said date will not prejudice the public service;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare Monday, April 6, 1981, as a special non-working public holiday throughout the country: Provided, That teachers and other officials or employees who are by law required to assist in the conduct of the plebiscite shall stay in their respective stations.ᇈWᑭHIL
