MALACAÑAN PALACE MANILA BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES PROCLAMATION NO. 2069 SETTING THE DATE FOR THE HOLDING OF A PLEBISCITE TO DECIDE THE CREATION OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF BALIGUIAN, PROVINCE OF ZAMBOANGA DEL NORTE. WHEREAS, Batas Pambansa Bilang 101, approved on December 27, 1980, provides for the creation of the Municipality of Baliguian, Province of Zamboanga del Norte, out of the northern barangays of the Municipality of Siocon, Zamboanga del Norte, namely: Baliguian, Milidan, Alegria, Diculum, Kauswagan, San Jose, Nunuyan and the sitios of Mamad, Diangas, Tidas, Linay, Balaboan, Balobok, Tamao, Siasi, Micubol, Mamawan, and Bangaan; and WHEREAS, the aforesaid legislative measure also provides that a plebiscite shall be held in the areas affected within a period of ninety days from the approval of the said Act, to determine whether the areas therein specified shall become a municipality to be known as the Municipality of Baliguian. NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law and pursuant to Batas Pambansa Blg. 101, do hereby direct the following: 1. The plebiscite to determine whether the barangays of Baliguian, Milidan, Alegria, Diculum, Kauswagan, San Jose, Nunuyan and the sitios of Mamad, Diangas, Tidas, Linay, Balaboan, Balobok, Tamao, Siasi, Micubol, Mamawan, and Bangaan, all in the Municipality of Siocon, Zamboanga del Norte, shall become a new municipality to be known as the Municipality of Baliguian, same province, shall be held on April 7, 1981, to coincide with the date set for the ratification of the proposed amendments to the Constitution. 2. The Commission on Elections shall supervise the conduct of the aforesaid plebiscite and shall promulgate the rules and regulations necessary to implement this Proclamation.ᇈWᑭHIL IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
