PROCLAMATION NO. 2042

AMENDING PROCLAMATION NO. 2040 ENTITLED, “CALLING THE INTERIM BATASANG PAMBANSA TO CONVENE AS A CONSTITUENT ASSEMBLY TO PROPOSE AND CONSIDER AMENDMENTS TO THE CONSTITUTION.”

WHEREAS, to give the Interim Batasang Pambansa enough time to deliberate as thoroughly as it could on the proposed amendments to the Constitution, it is necessary that the time limit fixed in the original proclamation be extended;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me under Section 15, Article XVII of the Constitution, do hereby amend Proclamation No. 2040 by calling on the interim Batasang Pambansa to continue as a constituent assembly until its task as such is completed.
