PROCLAMATION NO. 2039

DECLARING DECEMBER 11, 1980 AS SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN REGION IX.

WHEREAS, December 11 marks the anniversary of the Lupong Tagapagpaganap ng Pook in the Autonomous Region IX;

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the people in said Region be given a day of reflection and prayer for this momentous event in its history;

WHEREAS, the Acting Chairman of the Lupong Tagapagpaganap ng Pook of Region IX has requested that this day be declared as a special public holiday to enable the public and all government officials and employees to participate in the celebration of this significant occasion;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare December 11, 1980, as a special public holiday in Region IX, so as to afford the people opportunity to celebrate with appropriate ceremonies the creation of the Lupong Tagapagpaganap ng Pook in said Region.ℒαwρhi৷
