PROCLAMATION NO. 2038

DECLARING DECEMBER 5 TO 10, 1980, AND EVERY YEAR THEREAFTER AS “ENERGY WEEK”

WHEREAS, the international energy crisis and uncertainties abroad require that the people must be conscious and concerned with the measures undertaken by the government in combating the difficulties emanating therefrom;

WHEREAS, the success of the various plans, measures and actions of the government in the light of the present energy crisis lies in the cooperation and national awareness of the people; and

WHEREAS, it is therefore desirable that the people must be aware of the vital necessity and importance of energy to the well being of the nation;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby proclaim the period from December 5 to 10, 1980 and every year thereafter as “Energy Week” under the auspices of the Ministry of Energy.
