PROCLAMATION NO. 2035

SETTING THE DATE FOR THE HOLDING OF A PLEBISCITE TO DECIDE THE CREATION OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF ANTIPAS IN THE PROVINCE OF NORTH COTABATO.

WHEREAS, Batas Pambansa Bilang 88, approved on Oct. 14, 1980, provides for the creation of the Municipality of Antipas, Province of North Cotabato, out of Barangays Antipas, Camutan, Dolores, Kiyab, Luhong, Magsaysay, Malangag, Malatab, and New Pontevedra, all within the Municipality of Matalam, Province of North Cotabato;

WHEREAS, the aforesaid legislative measure also provides that a plebiscite shall be held in the areas affected within a period of one hundred twenty (120) days from the approval of the said Act, to determine whether the barangays specified therein shall become a new municipality to be known as the Municipality of Antipas, Province of North Cotabato.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law and pursuant to Batas Pambansa Bilang 88, do hereby direct the following:

1) On December 6, 1980 a plebiscite shall be held in the Municipality of Matalam, province of North Cotabato, to determine whether the Barangays of Antipas, Camutan, Dolores, Kiyab, Luhong, Magsaysay, Malangag, Matalab, and New Pontevedra, all in the Municipality of Matalam, shall become a new municipality to be known as the Municipality of Antipas, Province of North Cotabato.ℒαwρhi৷

2) The Commission on Elections shall supervise the conduct of the aforesaid plebiscite and shall promulgate the rules and regulations necessary to implement this Proclamation.

Done in the City of Manila, this 11th day of November, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and eighty.
