PROCLAMATION NO. 2034

SETTING THE DATE FOR THE HOLDING OF A PLEBISCITE TO DECIDE THE CREATION OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF AGUINALDO IN THE PROVINCE OF IFUGAO.

WHEREAS, Batas Pambansa Bilang 86, approved on September 20, 1980, provides for the creation of the Municipality of Aguinaldo, Province of Ifugao, out of Barangays Bunhian, Damag, Galonogon, Itab, Jacmal, Taang, Talete and Ubao, all within the Municipality of Mayoyao, Province of Ifugao;

WHEREAS, the aforesaid legislative measure also provides that a plebiscite shall be held in the areas affected within a period of one hundred twenty (120) days from the approval of the said Act, to determine whether the Barangays specified therein shall become a new municipality to be known as the Municipality of Aguinaldo, Province of Ifugao;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law and pursuant to Batas Pambansa Bilang 86, do hereby direct the following:

1) On December 6, 1980 a plebiscite shall be held in Barangays Bunhian, Damag, Golonogon, Itab, Jacmal, Taang, Talete, and Ubao, all in the Municipality of Mayoyao, Province of Ifugao, to determine whether the said Barangays shall become a new municipality to be known as the Municipality of Aguinaldo, Province of Ifugao.

2) The Commission on Elections shall supervise the conduct of the aforesaid plebiscite and shall promulgate the rules and regulations necessary to implement this Proclamation.ℒαwρhi৷
