PROCLAMATION NO. 2033

SETTING THE DATE FOR THE HOLDING OF A PLEBISCITE TO DECIDE THE CREATION OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF GENERAL MARIANO ALVAREZ, PROVINCE OF CAVITE.

WHEREAS, Batas Pambansa Bilang 76, approved on June 13, 1980, provides for the creation of the Municipality of General Mariano Alvarez, Province of Cavite, out of the Resettlement Areas under the administration of the National Housing Authority in the Barangays of San Jose and San Gabriel, and a portion of the Barangay of Cabilang Baybay, all in the Municipality of Carmona, Province of Cavite;

WHEREAS, the aforesaid legislative measure also provides that a plebiscite shall be held in the areas affected within a period of one hundred eighty days from the approval of the said Act, to determine whether the areas therein specified shall become a new municipality to be known as the Municipality of General Mariano Alvarez;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, and pursuant to Batas Pambansa Bilang 76, do hereby direct the following:

1) On Jan. 10, 1981, a plebiscite shall be held in the Municipality of Carmona and the new Municipality of General Mariano Alvarez, to determine whether the Resettlement Areas in Barangays San Jose and San Gabriel, and a portion of the Barangay of Cabilang Baybay, shall become a new municipality to be known as the Municipality of General Mariano Alvarez, Province of Cavite.

2) The Commission on Elections shall supervise the conduct of the aforesaid plebiscite and shall promulgate the rules and regulations necessary to implement this Proclamation.ℒαwρhi৷
