PROCLAMATION NO. 2023

AUTHORIZING THE BODYBUILDERS ASSOCIATION OF THE PHILIPPINES TO CONDUCT A NATIONWIDE FUND DRIVE FOR A PERIOD OF SIX MONTHS.

WHEREAS, the “Mr. Universe” contest will be held in Manila from November 26 to 30, 1980 under the auspices of the Bodybuilders Association of the Philippines;

WHEREAS, the contest is expected to generate world publicity for our country’s sports and physical development program; and

WHEREAS, the Association needs the support of the public to enable it to successfully stage the contest;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby authorize the Bodybuilders Association of the Philippines to conduct a nationwide fund campaign for a period of six months from the issuance of this proclamation.

All contributions and donation to the Association shall be exempt from income and gift and other forms of taxes and shall constitute allowable deductions from the income of the donors and contributors for income tax purposes.
