PROCLAMATION NO. 2021

DECLARING OCTOBER 19 TO 25, 1980 AS “ASTA WEEK”

WHEREAS, the American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA) has chosen Manila as the venue of its 50th Annual World Travel Congress to mark its Golden Anniversary;

WHEREAS, it is necessary to focus public attention to the economic, cultural, social and political importance of tourism to individual countries, states and their citizens; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper to give due recognition to the contributions of the ASTA to the promotion of the tourism industry world-wide;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare October 19 to 25, 1980 as “ASTA WEEK”.ℒαwρhi৷

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
