PROCLAMATION NO. 2006

DECLARING FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 12, 1980, AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN THE CITY OF CAVITE.

WHEREAS, on Friday, September 12, 1980, the people of Cavite City celebrates the 40th foundation anniversary of their city;

WHEREAS, said day likewise marks the 84th Death Anniversary of the XIII Martyrs, whose names are written in blood in the golden pages of Philippine History as the leading spirit of our struggle for freedom from the tyranny of the foreign colonizers; and

WHEREAS, it is necessary to focus attention on this significant day in the history of said City:

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare Friday, September 12, 1980, as a special public holiday in the City of Cavite, but the day shall be a regular working and school day.
