PROCLAMATION NO. 1983
DECLARING TUESDAY, JULY 1, 1980, AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN SOUTHERN LEYTE.
WHEREAS, Tuesday, July 1, 1980 marks the 20th anniversary of the creation of the Province of Southern Leyte; and
WHEREAS, the residents of Southern Leyte should be afforded the opportunity to commemorate the event with appropriate ceremonies;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare July 1, 1980, as a special public holiday in Southern Leyte, but the day will be a regular working and school day.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
