PROCLAMATION NO. 1966

DECLARING THE 2ND WEEK OF MAY OF EVERY YEAR AS LIVESTOCK AND POULTRY PRODUCTION WEEK.

WHEREAS, in order o encourage the production of livestock and poultry, one of the basic industries of our country, it is necessary to set aside a period during which the people’s attention may be focused on the necessity of producing more and better livestock and poultry for breeding, meat, milk and work purposes;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the second week of May of every year as Livestock and Poultry Production Week.

The Ministry of Agriculture thru the Bureau of Animal Industry, Federation of Cattle Raisers Association of the Philippines (FCRAP), Philippine Association of Hog Raisers Inc. (PAHRI), Philippine Poultry Industry Association (PPIA) and other related agencies, public and private, shall undertake and coordinate all activities in connection with the celebration of said week.

Proclamation No. 640 dated January 19, 1960 is hereby revoked.
