PROCLAMATION NO. 1938

DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM JANUARY 21 TO 31, 1980, AS "PHOTOGRAPHY WEEK"

WHEREAS, Photography plays a vital role in the noble task of Nation-Building;

WHEREAS, Photography in the Philippines has faithfully recorded in photos the day-to-day achievements of the New Society; and

WHEREAS, it is indeed very important to draw the attention of the New Filipinos about the contribution of photography in national development;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from January 21 to 31, 1980, as "Photography Week" under the auspices of the Professional Photographers Association of the Philippines (PPAP) Incorporated.
