DECLARING THE FOURTH SUNDAY OF JUNE OF EVERY YEAR AS “GRANDPARENTS’ DAY.”
WHEREAS, every generation owes its elder citizens a debt of gratitude for bringing them forth to this world, and for their efforts in molding their character;
WHEREAS, it behooves us to set aside one day of the year at least to honor our parents and grandparents whose places in society we will someday take;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, ALEJANDRO MELCHOR, Executive Secretary, by order of His Excellency, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare the last Sunday of June of every year as “Grandparents’ Day.1aшphi1”
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
