DECLARING SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 9, 1972, AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN CEBU PROVINCE AND IN THE CITIES OF CEBU, DANAO, LAPU-LAPU, MANDAUE AND TOLEDO.
WHEREAS, Saturday, September 9, 1972, marks the birthday of the late President Sergio Osmeña, Sr., second president of the Commonwealth, patriot, statesman and staunch advocate of nationalism and Philippine Independence; and
WHEREAS, at least the people of his province should be afforded an opportunity to celebrate the event with appropriate ceremonies;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, ALEJANDRO MELCHOR, Executive Secretary, by order of His Excellency, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare Saturday, September 9, 1972, as a special public holiday in Cebu Province and in the Cities of Cebu, Danao, Lapu-Lapu, Mandaue and Toledo.
