Proclamation No. 348

CALLING THE CONGRESS OF THE PHILIPPINES TO A SPECIAL SESSION

WHEREAS, the public interest requires that the Congress of the Philippines be convened in a special session in order to consider legislative measures to provide for the essential and urgent public works projects of the government and the necessary funds for the reconstruction, repair and maintenance of roads, buildings, bridges, portworks and other permanent improvements, particularly those that were destroyed or damaged by recent floods and typhoons or other calamities;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Elpidio Quirino, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution, do hereby call the Congress of the Philippines to a special session for a period of five days commencing at ten o’clock in the morning of the fourth day of November, 1952, to consider the enactment of the necessary legislation appropriating funds for public works.

All persons entitled to sit as members of the Congress of the Philippines are requested to take notice of this proclamation.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.

Done in the City of Manila, this 27th day of October, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and fifty-two, and of the Independence of the Philippines, the seventh.
