MALACAÑANG PALACE Manila BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES Proclamation No. 625 CALLING FOR SPECIAL ELECTION TO FILL EXISTING VACANCIES IN THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY Whereas the National Assembly has certified that the following vacancies exist in the membership of said body: Third District of Albay Second District of Iloilo Fifth District of Leyte Second District of Nueva Ecija Now, therefore, by virtue of the authority conferred upon me by section seventeen of Commonwealth Act Numbered three hundred and fifty-seven, known as the Election Code, I, Manuel L. Quezon, President of the Philippines, hereby issue this proclamation and call a special election to take place on Tuesday, the 10th day of December, nineteen hundred and forty, in the following districts of the provinces in the Philippines for the purpose of electing the members who are to fill the unexpired portion of the term of the existing vacancies in the National Assembly, to wit: Third District of Albay Second District of Iloilo Fifth District of Leyte Second District of Nueva Ecija The provisions of the Election Code in so far as they are applicable shall be followed in the conduct of the special election herein called. In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Commonwealth of the Philippines to be affixed. Done at the City of Manila, this fourth day of October in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and forty, and of the Commonwealth of the Philippines, the fifth. MANUEL L.
