Proclamation No. 298

GIVING PUBLIC NOTICE THAT NO PUBLIC CALAMITY NOW EXISTS IN THE PROVINCES OF LEYTE, TAYABAS, TARLAC, BULACAN, MOUNTAIN PROVINCE, AND THE CITY OF BAGUIO, AND FOR THIS PURPOSE REVOKING PROCLAMATIONS NOS. 760, 836, 837, AND 838, SERIES OF 1935; AND 224, 226, AND 229, SERIES OF 1937; AND EXCLUDING THE PROVINCE OF LEYTE FROM THE EFFECT OF PROCLAMATION NO. 755, SERIES OF 1934, AS AMENDED BY PROCLAMATION NO. 775, SERIES OF 1935.

It appearing that the conditions at present obtaining in the Provinces of Leyte, Tayabas, Tarlac, Bulacan, Mountain Province, and the City of Baguio where the existence of public calamity has been proclaimed under the provisions of Act Numbered Four thousand one hundred sixty-four on account of the disasters that took place in said localities in previous years, are not such as those which prevailed during and immediately after the occurrence of said disasters, I, Manuel L. Quezon, President of the Philippines, do hereby give notice that no public calamity now exists in sufficient degree to warrant the regulation of prices of articles of prime necessity in these places and, therefore, I do hereby proclaim such state of emergency therein to be ended, effective this date.

Proclamations Numbered Seven hundred sixty, Eight hundred thirty-six, Eight hundred thirty-seven, and Eight hundred thirty-eight, series of nineteen hundred and thirty-five; and Two hundred twenty-four, Two hundred twenty-six, and Two hundred twenty-nine, series of nineteen hundred and thirty-seven, are hereby revoked.

Proclamation Numbered Seven hundred fifty-five, series of nineteen hundred and thirty-four, as amended by Proclamation Numbered Seven hundred seventy-five, series of nineteen hundred and thirty-five, shall hereafter have no force and effect in so far as the Province of Leyte is concerned.

In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Commonwealth of the Philippines to be affixed.
