BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES
Proclamation No. 251
DECLARING FEBRUARY 9, 1938, A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY
In commemoration of the day (February ninth, eighteen hundred and thirty-seven) that saw the birth of Reverend Father Jose A. Burgos, one of our venerated martyrs, who had consecrated his life to the cause of our Fatherland, it is but fitting and proper that the centennial of the day of his birth be celebrated this year and that said day be declared a special public holiday so that the spirit of the occasion may be preserved in the memory of our people.
Now, therefore, in pursuance of the provisions of section thirty of the Revised Administrative Code, I Manuel L. Quezon, President of the Philippines, do hereby proclaim February ninth, nineteen hundred and thirty-eight, a special public holiday.
In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Commonwealth of the Philippines to be affixed.
Done at the City of Manila, this first day of February, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and thirty-eight, and of the Commonwealth of the Philippines, the third.
