EXPRESSING CONCURRENCE IN THE DEPUTIZATION OF LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES IN CONNECTION WITH THE MAY 10, 2004 ELECTION

Pursuant to article IX(C), Section 2(4) of the Constitution, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Philippines, do hereby concur in Resolution No. 6455 of the Commission on Election (COMELEC), dated December 10, 2003, deputizing for the purpose of ensuring free, honest, peaceful and credible conduct of the May 10, 2004 national and local elections, the Department of National Defense, Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), including the Philippine National Police (PNP), and Nation Police Commission. National and local officials and employees, law enforcement agencies and other instrumentalities, including the AFP, are hereby directed to coordinate and cooperate with the COMELEC in the performance of their duties and functions.
