AUTHORIZING THE HOLDING OF ACTIVITIES IN OBSERVANCE OF CHRISTMAS 99 IN THE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT (PROPER)
For a meaningful observance of Christmas 99 before the Jubilee Year 2000, the holding of activities in the Office of the President (Proper) is hereby authorized to be spearheaded by the Office of the Executive Secretary, in coordination with the OP Christmas Program Committee, the OP Cultural affairs Committee and the Malacañang Chaplaincy, with the participation of the Colleges, Universities, School and Barangays within the vicinity of Malacañang. All concerned are enjoined to encourage their respective staffs to participate in the following activities:
1. Simbang Tanghali (9 days of Novena Masses for Christmas)

Dec. 13, 14, 15, 16, 20, 22 and 23, 1999
Venue/Time: Mabini Social Hall, 12:00 noon
Conference Room, NEB, 12:30 p.m.
2. Advent Recollection
In-charge : Malacañang Chaplaincy & Volunteer Group
Dec. 17 – Friday
Time: 9:30 – 11:45 a.m.
Venue: Kalayaan Hall, OPS
Program of Activities:
– Joyful Songs & Opening Prayers
– Talk/Reflection on “The Great Jubilee of Christianity”
– Confession
– Simbang Tanghali – 12:00 noon
– Lunch (courtesy of the Office of the First Lady)
3. Contests

Dec. 17 – Friday
a. 10:00 a.m. – Christmas Decor (by office – OP Proper)
b. Christmas Lantern Parade – OP (Proper), SBC, CEU, CHS, LCC,
VMHS, Barangays 641, 642, 643 & 645
3:30 p.m. – Assembly at the San Miguel Church Compound
5:20 p.m. – Entry at the Parking Lot in front of the Mabini Hall Main
Lobby. Competitors will hang their Lanterns at the
designated area for judging.
c. 5:30 p.m. – Program Proper
5:45 p.m. – Inspirational Message by Guest of Honor, Sec. R. Zamora
d. 5:55 p.m. – Start of Choral Contest
7:30 p.m. – Announcement of Finalists
8:00 p.m. – End of Program
4. 3:00 p.m. – Christmas Thanksgiving Mass
4:00 p.m. – Christmas Program with the OP (Proper) Personnel,
with the President and the First Family as Guests of Honor
