[ Memorandum Order No. 398, September 24, 1996 ]
REQUIRING MEMBERS OF THE CABINET AND HEADS OF OFFICES INCLUDING GOVERNMENT OWNED OR CONTROLLED CORPORATIONS, TO GIVE PRIORITY TO ATTENDING CONGRESSIONAL AND COURT HEARINGS
Under Memorandum Order No. 112 dated September 29, 1987, this Office adopted guidelines on appearances of Cabinet members during congressional hearings/inquiries.
In this connection, all Cabinet members and heads of offices, including government-owned or controlled corporations, are hereby reminded to give priority to attending Congressional hearings pursuant to the said Order.1aшphi1
They are likewise required, in the event that they cannot attend such hearings, to send their representatives not lower than undersecretary level.
The same policy shall be observed by all concerned with respect to court hearings.
This Memorandum Order shall take effect immediately.
