ENJOINING EVERYONE TO OBSERVE THE LINGGO NG KASUOTANG PILIPINO BY WEARING THE FILIPINO ATTIRE ON THE THIRD WEEK OF SEPTEMBER OF EVERY YEAR. |

In pursuit of Proclamation No. 241 dated 30 August 1993 “Declaring the Third Week of September of Every Year as Linggo ng Kasuotang Pilipino” and to assist the Department of Tourism, the lead agency in the implementation thereof, everyone is enjoined to wear Filipino attire and accessories during the said period every year.
The Filipino attire as an identity symbol embraces all forms and manner of dressing that identity the origins of regional Filipino and encompasses the newly involved silhouettes that have been sanctified by usage and that which evoked the manifold culture of the Filipino.
There is a need to project their unique Filipino identity and to create a sense of pride in being Filipino. It is also necessary to show the importance of the Filipino attire in order to give due recognition to Filipino heritage and culture.1aшphi1
In this light, employees of all agencies of the government and their instrumentalities are enjoined to wear the Filipino attire during the celebration of the “Linggo ng Kasuotang Pilipino”. Likewise the government agencies and their instrumentalities are hereby encouraged to conduct programs and cultural activities that would highlight the celebration and increase consciousness of every Filipino towards Filipino Culture and heritage.
This Memorandum Order shall take effect immediately
