DESIGNATING THE MEMBERS OF THE LEGISLATIVE-EXECUTIVE DEVELOPMENT ADVISORY COUNCIL UNDER REPUBLIC ACT NO. 7640
WHEREAS, it is the policy of the state to formulate after consultations with appropriate public agencies, the private sector, and local government units socio-economic development programs;
WHEREAS, Republic Act No. 7640 (1992) constituted the Legislative-Executive Development Advisory Council as an effective advisory and consultative mechanism to ensure consistency in coordinating executive development planning and congressional budgeting;
WHEREAS, the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives have, respectively, designated the members of both Houses of Congress to the Legislative Executive Development Advisory Council;
NOW THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby name the members of the Legislative Executive Development Advisory Council, as follows:
As designated by R.A. 7640:
1. President of the Philippines as Chairman:
2. Vice-President of the Philippines;
3. President of the Senate;
4. Speaker of the House of Representatives;
As designated by the President of the Senate:
5. Sen. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo;
6. Sen. Ernesto Maceda;
7. Sen. Wigberto Taņada;
As designated by the Speaker of the House:
8. Rep. Felicito C. Payumo;
9. Rep. Rolando R. Andaya;
10. Rep. Margarito B. Teves;
Rep. Exequiel B. Javier (as alternate);
As designated or appointed by the President of the Philippines:
11. Secretary of Finance;
12. Secretary of Trade and Industry;
13. Secretary of Transportation and Communications;
14. Secretary of Environment and Natural Resources;
15. Secretary of Agriculture;
16. Secretary of Science and Technology;
17. Director General of the National Economic and Development Authority;
18. Representative of the League of Governors;
19. President of the Pambansang Pederasyon ng Sangguniang Kabataan; and
20. Representative of the Caucus of Development NGO Networks.
Membership in the Council of the foregoing legislators shall be an extension, of their legislative functions.ℒαwρhi৷ Membership in the Council of the foregoing cabinet members shall be in an ex-officio capacity.
This Executive Order shall take effect immediately.
