DISSOLVING THE SCREENING COMMITTEE CREATED PURSUANT TO MEMORANDUM ORDER NO. 93, S. 1993 AND DIRECTING THE NEW PHILIPPINE NATIONAL POLICE (PNP) LEADERSHIP TO CONTINUE WITH THE PNP REFORMS
WHEREAS, the President created the Screening Committee to evaluate and process all voluntary applications for retirement of senior Philippine National Police (PNP) officers pursuant to Memorandum Order No. 93 dated 23 February 1993;
WHEREAS, the said Committee headed by Secretary Rafael M. Alunan III, Department of the Interior and Local Government, has satisfactorily completed its task; and
WHEREAS, there is no further need for the said Committee as the process of reforming and revitalizing the PNP should now be undertaken by the new PNP leadership.1aшphi1
NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby order the dissolution of the Screening Committee created pursuant to Memorandum Order No. 93, s. 1993 to evaluate and process the voluntary applications for optional retirement of senior Philippine National Police (PNP) officers.
The new PNP leadership is further directed to continue the task of reforming and revitalizing the PNP so as to restore public trust and confidence in the institution.
This Order shall take effect immediately.
DONE in the City of Manila this 21st day of May in the year of Our Lord Nineteen Hundred and Ninety-Three.
