[ Memorandum Order No. 317, September 7, 1990 ]

PROVIDING FOR THE CONCLUSION OF THE IMPORTATION AND DONATION FACILITY FOR EARTHQUAKE VICTIMS UNDER MEMORANDUM ORDER NO. 306, S. OF 1990

WHEREAS, the urgency of the situation in areas affected by 16 July 1990 earthquake has been contained and post earthquake efforts are being directed towards rehabilitation and reconstruction;

WHEREAS, the arrival of foreign donations for the said earthquake-stricken areas can now be processed under the normal system and procedures as provided under Section 105 of the Tariff and Customs Code of the Philippines;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby order:

Section 1. The importation and donation facility provided under Memorandum Order No. 306, S. of 1990, shall conclude fifteen (15) days from the date of this Memorandum Order.1aшphi1 Thereafter, arriving foreign donations shall be processed under the normal system and procedures.

Section 2. To avoid dislocation of donations of foreign donations intended for the said earthquake affected areas, the Presidential Management Staff shall ensure the smooth interfacing of the Memorandum Order No. 306, S. of 1990, facility with the normal system and procedures, including the dissemination of this Memorandum Order for the guidance of the concerned agencies and organizations.
