[ Memorandum Order No. 53, November 27, 1986 ]
Pursuant to Article XII (C), Section 2 (4) of the 1973 Constitution, as adopted in the Provisional Constitution under Proclamation No. 3, dated March 25, 1986, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of the Philippines, do hereby authorize the Commission on Elections to deputize the New Armed Forces of the Philippines (NAFP); the Philippine Constabulary/Integrated National Police; and any Ministry, bureau, office or agency of the government, or the officials and employees thereof, for the purpose of ensuring the free, orderly and honest conduct of the general registration of voters authorized under Executive Order No. 50, dated October 20, 1986, and the national plebiscite to be held thereafter.
All government agencies, officials and employees deputized pursuant to this Memorandum Order are hereby directed to coordinate with the Commission on Elections in the performance of their respective duties and functions.
This Memorandum Order shall take effect immediately.
