MALACAÑAN PALACE MANILA BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES [ Memorandum Order No. 11, June 3, 1986 ] DIRECTING THE MINISTER OF EDUCATION, CULTURE AND SPORTS TO SUSPEND THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE NATIONAL SERVICE LAW (PRESIDENTIAL DECREE NO. 1706), CONDUCT A REVIEW THEREOF, AND SUBMIT RECOMMENDATIONS THEREON. Widespread protests have been registered by various sectors in the country against the implementation of the National Service Law and a demand for a review of its provisions has been made. In view thereof, the Minister of Education, Culture and Sports is hereby directed to suspend the implementation of the National Service Law (except the military component), at all school levels effective School Year 1986-87, until further orders. The Minister of Education, Culture and Sports is further directed to conduct a review of the National Service Law and to submit her recommendations thereon.
