CREATING THE PRESIDENTIAL ARCHIVES IN THE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT/PRIME MINISTER
There is hereby created in the Office of the President/Prime Minister a Unit to be known as the Presidential Archives which shall have the following functions:
1. To keep maintain and preserve documents about President/Prime Minister Ferdinand E. Marcos torn September 11, 1917 to December 31, 1969.
2. To keep, maintain and preserve rare books, periodicals, and other publications as well as documentary films and tape recordings belonging, or pertaining to President/Prime Minister Ferdinand E. Marcos.
3. To classify catalog and index the aforementioned the President/Prime Minister or the First Lady.
4. To microfilm rare documents belonging or pertaining to President/Prime Minister Ferdinand E. Marcos.
5. To establish a charge-out procedure and control system for aforementioned archives materials and equipment when loaned to authorized persons in or outside the Presidential Archives.
6. To coordinate with other government offices and agencies in the acquisition, by purchase or transfer, of such materials needed in the Presidential Archives.
7. To undertake research work which may be assigned to it from time to time and perform other related work as directed by the President/Prime Minister or the First Lady.1aшphi1
The Presidential Archives shall be headed by a Unit Head who shall supervise the work therein. It shall have for its personnel qualified employees in the Office of the President/Prime Minister, who may be appointed or assigned thereto by the Presidential Executive Assistant.
This Memorandum Order shall take effect immediately.
