MALACAÑAN PALACE MANILA BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES [ Memorandum Order No. 620, June 30, 1978 ] AUTHORIZING THE ATTENDANCE AND PARTICIPATION ON OFFICIAL TIME OF OFFICIALS AND EMPLOYEES OF AGENCIES UNDER THE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT/PRIME MINISTER IN THE SPORTS ACTIVITIES OF THE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT/PRIME MINISTER ATHLETIC LEAGUE (OPAL) In line with the President/Prime Minister’s policy of promoting physical and mental fitness through sports, the Office of the President/Prime Minister Athletic League (OPAL) has launched its annual athletic program starting June, 1978. All heads of agencies under the Office of the President/Prime Minister who are members of the league are hereby authorized to allow as many officials and employees as may be excused on official time to participate in the athletic program of the league. Participating athletes and players, including their managers, coaches, trainers and official photographers as well as other members of their media crew covering the sports events of the league shall be entitled to ordinary transportation expenses and reasonable allowances not exceeding ?20.00 per day, for actual participation in such sports events, chargeable against the funds of their respective agencies, subject to the availability of funds and to usual accounting and auditing requirements.1aшphi1 All officials and employees concerned are hereby directed to give their full support and active participation in this athletic program.
