[ Memorandum Order No. 606, January 13, 1978 ]

AMENDING MEMORANDUM ORDER NO. 220, CREATING AN INFORMATION UNIT IN THE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT, DATED MARCH 1, 1971.

The functions of the Unit as provided for in Memorandum Order No. 220 is hereby amended to read as follows:

1. To provided caller, visitors and other persons who come to the Office to transact business with accurate information as to the division or unit in this Office handling their papers and/or status of their papers or requests.

2. To attend to and interview such callers and visitors with the view to expedite early action on their papers or requests.

3. To direct and, if necessary, guide visitors, to the particular official or employee acting on their papers.

4. To serve as the Liaison of the Office of the President with various agencies of the government on all requests for assistance by the general public on miscellaneous matters.1aшphi1

5. To serve as one of the Unit in the machinery for public service set up by the Presidential Executive Assistant by conducting appropriate interview for proper referrals of the requests and need of the people requesting assistance.

The Unit shall coordinate with the Chiefs of Divisions and other primary units in this Office of their duly designated representatives

All officials and employees are hereby enjoined to extend full support and assistance to the Unit by providing accurate information desired or by taking immediate action on the requests or papers referred to them for action.

This order shall take effect immediately.
