[ MEMORANDUM ORDER NO. 427, May 10, 1974 ]
CREATING A COORDINATING COMMITTEE TO HANDLE THE CEREMONIES PERTAINING TO THE CONFIRMATION OF THE SULTAN OF SULU BY THE RUMA BECHARA ON MAY 20, 1974 IN JOLO AND ZAMBOANGA CITY.
WHEREAS, the Government has always recognized the Sultanate of Sulu as the legitimate claimant to the historical territories of the Republic of the Philippines;
WHEREAS, the Government has the obligation to assist in the confirmation of Sultan Mahakuta Itiram as the 29th Sultan of Sulu succeeding his father, the late Mohammad Ismael Kiram.
WHEREFORE, consistent with the foregoing, there is hereby created a Coordinating Committee to handle the ceremonies pertaining to the confirmation of the Sultan of Sulu, in coordination with other government agencies, to be composed of the following:
