[ MEMORANDUM ORDER NO. 346, February 19, 1973 ]
CREATING THE PRESIDENTIAL LIBRARY IN THE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT.
There is hereby created in the Office of the President a Unit to be known as the Presidential Library which shall have the following functions:
1. Keeps and preserves books, periodicals, and other publications as well as documentary films and tape recordings belonging to, or pertaining to the President that are entrusted to its custody.
2. Classify, catalog and index the aforementioned resources to facilitate its consultation and reference use by duly authorized persons, and established a system for charging and discharging said resources used inside or loaned to authorize persons outside the library.
3. Performs research work which may be assigned to it from time to time.
4. Coordinate with other government offices and agencies in the acquisition, by purchase or transfer, such resources or materials as are needed in the Presidential Library.
5. Performs such other related works as the President and the First Family may assign.
The Presidential Library shall be headed by a Unit Head who shall supervise the work therein. It shall have for its personnel qualified employees in the Office of the President who may be appointed or assigned thereto by the Executive Secretary.1aшphi1
