[ Memorandum Order No. 261, October 29, 1971 ]

CREATING A COMMITTEE TO TAKE CHARGE OF THE WELCOME AS WELL AS THE FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS AND INTERMENT OF THE LATE COL. JESUS VILLAMOR, HERO OF WORLD WAR II.

WHEREAS, Col.  Jesus Villamor, hero of World War II, died Thursday morning in a Washington hospital after suffering from lingering ailment;

WHEREAS, Col. Villamor demonstrated the highest tradition of Filipino valor and patriotism, when he single-handedly opposed Japanese zeros at the outbreak of the pacific war;

WHEREAS, it is but fitting and proper that adequate welcome and funeral arrangements be accorded Col. ViIlamor in grateful recognition of his indomitable courage and willingness to offer his life that all of us may live in peace and freedom;

NOW, THEREFORE, there is hereby created a Committee to take charge of the welcome, funeral arrangements and interment of the late Col. Villamor composed of the following:

Col.Agustin Marking Representing the Veterans Federation of the Philippines	Member
Representative of the United States Armed Forces	Member
Judge Florencio Villamor Representing the family	Member
Col. Miguel Villamor, GHQ, AFP.	Member

The Committee is hereby empowered to call upon any department, bureau or office for such assistance as it may need in the performance of its functions.1aшphi1

This Order takes effect immediately.
