BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES

[ Memorandum Order No. 86, December 27, 1967 ]

PROHIBITING TOE SOLICITATION OF GIFTS BY PERSONNEL IN THE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT.

It has come to our attention that certain employees of the Office of the President and members of the Presidential Guard Battalion and of the Presidential Security Unit have been soliciting gifts from private individuals during the Christmas season. Needless to state, this practice exposes not only the personnel concerned but also the Office itself to criticisms. It is surprising that this practice should be resorted to when during the Christmas Party sponsored by the First Family within the Malacaņang Compound cash gifts were donated by the members of the First Family, as well as by the Executive Secretary, the Press Secretary, the Assistant Executive Secretaries, the Assistant Press Secretaries and other ranking officials In the Office of the President.

It is therefore hereby directed that this practice be stopped immediately; otherwise violation hereof will subject the erring employees to severe administrative disciplinary action.1aшphi1
