CREATING A COMMITTEE TO LOOK INTO ENCROACHMENTS ON DAVAO PENAL COLONY RESERVATION AND TO SUBMIT RECOMMENDATIONS THEREON.

WHEREAS, the Davao Penal Colony reservation has been dwindling in area due to encroachments of squatters and the ill-advised segregation of portions thereof;

WHEREAS, further ill-considered reduction of the reservation would seriously impair the operations and investments of the/colony;

WHEREFORE, a committee composed of representatives each from the Department of Justice, the Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources and the General Auditing Office is hereby created to determine and submit recommendations on the following:

(1) the veracity of the claims made by those who have filed petitions for the segregation of portions of the Davao Penal Colony; and

(2) which portions may be segregated from the colony reservation without impairing the present and future operations of the colony.

The committee may call upon any department, bureau, office, agency or Instrumentality of the government for such assistance as .it may need. It shall submit its report to the President as soon as possible.1aшphi1
