[ MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 40, November 16, 2012 ]
ENJOINING ALL GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS AND EMPLOYEES TO SUPPORT THE “MARCH TO RIGHTEOUSNESS” ON 9 DECEMBER 2012
The United Nations Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC) designated December 9 as international Anti-Corruption Day. The Philippines, as a State Party to UNCAC, affirms and supports its observance.
As part of the celebration of Anti-Corruption Day, the Office of the Ombudsman will spearhead a “March to Righteousness”on 9 December 2012, 5:00 to 9:00 a.m., at the Quezon City Memorial Circle, with the central theme “Katiwalian Wakasan! Tuloy ang Laban!”
All departments, agencies and instrumentalities of the national government, including GOCCs, local government units (LGUs) and state universities and colleges in the National Capital Region, are hereby enjoined to attend and participate in the celebration.1âшphi1
Regional offices are likewise encouraged to undertake activities to celebrate Anti-Corruption Day in conjunction with the central theme at no cost to government.
This Memorandum Circular shall take effect immediately.
