To have a more meaningful observance of the Holy Week, all officials and employees of the government, including government-owned and controlled corporations, may take the afternoon off starting at 12:01 P.M. on Holy Wednesday, March 31, 1999.1âшphi1

It is understood, however, that the heads of offices shall provide a skeletal force to man their respective offices during the period.
