This pertains to inquiries and clamor from government personnel to have half-day office today, April 8, 1998, in connection with the observance of the lenten season.
For the guidance of all concerned, you are hereby informed that it is not half-day office but full-day office hours today. All heads of departments, bureaus and offices, including government-owned and/or-controlled corporations, are accordingly required to enjoin full-duty attendance of their respective officials and employees to ensure rendering regular and continuous service to the general public.1âшphi1
You are further advised that, considering that there is a four-day uninterrupted holidays, Black Saturday, April 11, 1998, having been declared special day throughout the country under Proclamation No. 1192, dated April 6, 1998, all heads of departments, bureaus and offices of the government, must take necessary measures to man vital services in their respective agencies to attend to contingencies during the holidays.
Furthermore, all coordinating centers of the government must continuously be in touch with the Office of the President for effective coordination through the Office of the President’s Coordinating Center (OPCC).
